Westwood Public Schools is seeking a Master’s level Speech and Language Pathologist to join Westwood Integrated Preschool in Massachusetts. This role focuses on language and pragmatic support for a diverse student caseload, including students with ASD, in an inclusive setting.

The successful candidate will conduct formal evaluations, assume IEP case-manager responsibilities, and communicate effectively with families and staff. Immediate start date and a 0.8 time allocation are expected.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts DESE certification is required.
  • ASHA Certification is required.
  • Massachusetts State License for Speech Pathologist is required.
  • Master’s level Speech and Language Pathologist with CCC and experience with ASD are preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Master's level Speech and Language Pathologist with ASHA membership and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), with previous experience with students who have a wide range of needs. A successful candidate will be able to provide service to a traditional level speech and language caseload, as well as students who have ASD diagnoses. This role would primarily provide students with language and pragmaticneeds.Candidate must have experience with formal evaluations (e.g., PPVT, CELF, etc.) and with IEP case manager responsibilities. Candidate must be a highly skilled evaluator and communicator, committed to working in a high-performing inclusive school environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Massachusetts DESE certification is required

  • Massachusetts State License for Speech Pathologist

Job Environment

Work takes place in classrooms and other building rooms/areas, including offices, auditorium, gym, lunchroom, and hallways, within a school building setting, primarily indoors. Job takes place in a high-performing school district with high expectations for all students.

Physical Requirements

  • Sufficient vision and hearing to read printed documents and communicate orally in team meetings.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching as well as carrying and occasionally lifting to 30 lbs.
  • Familiar with all computer and web-based programs for scoring evaluations, writing reports, and completing IEP progress reports and goal statements.
