Job Description

The Hatfield Public School District is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist licensed in Massachusetts to work with a multi-disciplinary team in two schools within the district. Responsibilities for this role will include completing formal assessments, observations, treatment planning, report writing, Medicaid billing log completion, attendance at meetings, providing direct individual and small group services to students, and working collaboratively with an SLP-A. The position will be responsible for direct and indirect oversight of the SLP-A according to ASHA guidelines, and will need to coordinate documentation practices, caseloads, and scheduling of services with the SLP-A as a partner position.

Responsibilities include, compliance with all federal and state regulations and district guidelines for special education and disability related procedures.

The person in this position will engage in developing tailored assessments and reports pertaining to consents given to evaluate student abilities.

Other responsibilities include, team development of the IEP and 504 plans involving the writing of comprehensive goals, entering objective data and other relevant information into the documents.

Services should be evidence-based and measurable.

Documentation will identify areas of growth and interventions to address plateaus in growth.

Data collection protocol completion will be established for each student requiring services, and progress reporting toward goals will be completed at the end of each grading period.

This position will be responsible for flexible scheduling to account for compensatory services, coordinate with other staff to schedule co-treatment opportunities, and consult with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Expectations also include process adherence of standard operating procedures and compliance.

Additional responsibilities designated by the Student Services Director and the school Principals.
