Job summary

DeKalb County School District seeks a SPED Paraprofessional for Chapel Hill Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports teachers in meeting educational and behavioral needs and promotes high academic expectations in the classroom and community.

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable, collaborative, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills as part of a team. Must meet educational requirements and obtain the paraprofessional certificate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA 2.0 or higher.
• Alternatively, high school diploma / GED with a passing GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Must obtain a valid Professional Standards Commission paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and/or individualized instruction per teacher plans.
• Assist with classroom management to promote an effective learning environment.
• Assist with assessment of student performance and related recordkeeping.
• Assist with development and organization of instructional materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
