Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking an SPED Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in classrooms and community settings, implementing instructional plans and promoting high academic expectations. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university.
Sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
A valid PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate is required.

Responsibilities

Assists students with physical and personal care needs per IEP and district policy under supervision of a certified teacher.
Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction following lesson plans.
Monitors students before/after school and during non-instructional periods.
Assists teachers with classroom management and data collection, including progress monitoring.

Education

High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment

Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university

Sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA 2.0 or higher

Paraprofessional certificate from Georgia PSC
