Job summary

Southwest DeKalb High School is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. The role focuses on delivering small group and individualized instruction aligned with lesson plans and promoting high academic expectations.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with staff, assist with assessments, and help organize instructional materials while maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses with GPA 2.0+ from a PSC-approved college or university.
• High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and/or individualized instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with classroom management to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Assist with assessment of student performance and recording of data.
• Assist with development and organization of instructional materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
