Job summary

Freedom Middle School in DeKalb County is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in the classroom and community. You will provide small group and one-on-one instruction, assist with behavior and data collection, and help implement accommodations outlined in IEPs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and must pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment or hold an associate degree or higher; sixty credit hours with a 2.0 GPA or a PSC-approved

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• OR an associate degree or higher.
• OR 60 sem. hours / 90 qtr. hours with GPA 2.0+ from a PSC-approved college.
• A valid PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with learning activities and accommodations per IEPs.
• Provide small group or one-on-one instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Support teachers with classroom management and behavior strategies.
• Assist with progress monitoring and data collection.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records (FERPA).
• Perform other duties as assigned by campus leadership.
