Job summary

DeKalb County School District in Georgia seeks a SPED Paraprofessional to support Peachtree Middle School for the 2026-2027 year. You will implement targeted instructional support under teacher guidance, assist with classroom management, and help with student assessments and materials.

The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, and meets education requirements: sixty college hours or a high school diploma with a passing GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, plus PSC

Qualifications

• Must have sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ from an accredited college.
• High school diploma/GED and a passing GACE Paraprofessional Assessment are required.
• Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and/or individualized instruction following teacher lesson plans.
• Assist with daily classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Assist with student performance assessment and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Assist with development and organization of instructional materials and ensure availability before lessons.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
