Job summary

Doraville United Elementary School in Georgia is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support students with educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, reinforce instruction, monitor students, and maintain confidentiality while collaborating with a team to promote high academic expectations as outlined in IEPs and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• An associate degree or higher from an approved college/university is acceptable.
• 60 sem hours or 90 quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ is acceptable.
• A valid paraprofessional certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical and personal care needs per IEP and district policy.
• Provides small groups or individualized instruction as per lesson plans.
• Monitors students before/after school and during transitions.
• Assists teachers with classroom management and behavior support.
• Helps with assessment and data collection under supervision.
• Prepares instructional materials and ensures availability for instruction.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA.
