Job summary

DeKalb County School District in Georgia seeks a Paraprofessional to support the Special Education program at Southwest DeKalb High School for the 2026-2027 year. The role provides small group and individualized instruction, assists with classroom management, and supports assessment and materials preparation to ensure high academic expectations.

Candidates must have 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with GPA 2.0+, or a high school diploma with GACE Paraprofessional test, and obtain PSC

Qualifications

Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a PSC approved accredited college or university.
High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment is required.
Must obtain valid PSC approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

Provide small group and/or individualized instruction according to lesson plans.
Assist teachers with daily classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment.
Assist with assessment of student performance (standardized and non-standardized) and other recordkeeping tasks.
Assist with development and organization of instructional materials and ensure materials are available before instruction.
Performs other duties as assigned.
