Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator Aide II to support students with various needs in multiple SPED programs. The role involves assisting teachers, providing one-on-one or small-group support, and implementing IEP-driven activities to foster functional living and academic skills.

The position emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and collaboration with education staff. Training in non-violent behavioral intervention and experience with assistive technologies

Qualifications

• Experience in special education settings is helpful.
• Ability to lift 50–80 pounds daily.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Possession or ability to obtain CPI Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in a variety of settings.
• Provide attendant services and support health and hygiene needs as needed.
• Support instruction in functional life skills and behavior plans.
• Record student progress and assist with instructional materials and graphs.
