Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Aide II to assist teachers in special education classrooms. The role involves providing individual or group support based on students' functional living and academic skills, and delivering attendant services as needed.

The position covers multiple SPED programs and may require movement of students and collaboration with teachers, to implement IEP goals, safety procedures, and health-related tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Assist students with intellectual, physical or behavioral disabilities in classroom activities.
• Follows IEP goals and behavior plans to support student progress.
• May assist with health-related tasks and medications when trained.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of specialized SPED programs (EC, CLS, SIP, Strategies, IK, etc.).
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
• Prepare instructional materials and track student progress.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
• Assist with movement, supervision and safety on school grounds and during activities.
