Job summary

The Washoe County School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator Aide II at Taylor Elementary School to support students with disabilities in a variety of instructional activities. This 25 hours/week, 180-day position works under supervision to assist teachers and provide one-on-one or small group support.

The role covers general and SPED programs, helping with life skills, behavior support, and documentation of progress, and may involve assisting with transportation and classroom

Qualifications

• Under supervision, works in a special education classroom assisting teaching staff in a variety of instructional activities.
• Assists teachers in special education classrooms and provides individual or group assistance depending on student or class's functional living and academic skills and/or behavioral support needed.
• Incumbent can also provide attendant services to students with various intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Paraeducator aides may be assigned to a variety of special education programs or individual students who require adult support based upon their IEPs.
• Duties include assisting students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in various settings and activities.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding student information and records.
