Job summary

Dallas ISD is seeking a SPED Inclusion Teacher Assistant for grades 9-12 at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy. You will support instructional activities, help with materials, and assist students with disabilities in daily routines.

This role requires a high school diploma and a paraprofessional certificate; experience with diverse learners is valued. Regular on-site attendance and collaboration with teachers and substitutes are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency).
• Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification.
• Successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants or six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups and with children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom and prepare classroom according to student needs.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting or positioning.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitutes teachers.
• Supervise students with daily activities including lunchroom, bus and playground duty.
