Job summary

Dallas ISD is seeking a SPED Inclusion Teacher Assistant for grades 7-8 to support teachers with instructional materials, classroom organization, and student supervision throughout the school day. The role includes assisting students with disabilities, personal care, and behavior management as part of a collaborative SPED team.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a paraprofessional certificate and a willingness to pursue ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with children with disabilities
• Willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
• Demonstrated organization and ability to maintain records and reports
• Experience supporting students with diverse needs (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and prepare classroom according to student needs
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transferring, lifting or positioning
• Assist with personal care (feeding, bathroom needs, hygiene) as required
• Assist with classroom curriculum and instructional exercises
• Supervise students during the school day (lunchroom, bus, playground)
• Keep confidential student information and participate in staff training and meetings
• Assist substitutes and help with assessments and reports
