Job summary

Azul Vision in Riverside, CA is seeking an experienced patient services coordinator to manage the scheduling of ophthalmology surgeries, coordinate pre-operative testing, insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and post-operative visits.

You will handle patient registration, collect payments, schedule follow-ups, and provide essential administrative support in a fast-paced, multispecialty practice.

Qualifications

Job Details: Job Location: Riverside - Riverside, CA 92501, Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.00 Hourly, Coordinate and schedule all aspects of patient surgeries for ophthalmologists in multispecialty group practice, including pre-operative testing, insurance verification, obtaining pre-authorizations and scheduling post-operative visits. In addition, provide administrative support including collecting patient payments, performing insurance verification, scheduling follow-up appointments and/or ancillary testing, obtaining records/authorizations, and performing encounter in patient registration system(s).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains surgical schedule for surgeons
• Communicates with patients about: scheduling, pre-op testing and visits, insurance requirements, surgical consents, facility ownership disclosure, transportation requirements, financial requirements, financial hardship assistance
• Contacts facilities for scheduling
• Arranges for pre-op testing
• Schedules pre-op visits
• Calls for necessary pre-authorizations
• Coordinates paperwork
• Maintains patient confidentiality
• Attends required meetings

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least one-year experience working in medical field and counseling of surgical patients preferred
• Experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detailed oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
• Flexible schedule working Monday-Friday

Preferred:

• Over 2 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.

Qualifications: Qualifications

• 3-5 years minimum of high-level customer service and/or sales experience.
• Medical experience is a plus.
• College degree is preferred
• Ophthalmic certifications are a plus which includes either ABO or COA.
• Must be able to manage difficult personalities and multiple tasks with care and accuracy.
