Corewell Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide specialized care in outpatient clinic settings in Royal Oak. You will collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The role includes IV medications, wound care, nutrition guidance, and patient education. Michigan RN licensure, BLS, and 3 years acute care experience are required; a specialty certification is expected within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from NLN-approved program.
  • 3 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • Michigan RN license required.
  • AHA/ARC Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Specialty certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients with complex needs.
  • Liaise between patient, family, physicians and the care team.
  • Administer IV medications, blood products, IV fluids; monitor response.
  • Wound care, nutrition guidance, and psychological support for patients and families.
  • Interpret and implement nursing and hospital policies.
  • Serve as clinical/community resource, educator, and consultant.
  • Coordinate care per physician treatment protocols with minimal supervision.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of Work
  • Provides specialized nursing care to patients with illnesses, combined medical problems or attitudes that require adaptation of established nursing procedures
  • Acts as liaison between the patient and family, physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Administers prescribed IV medications, blood and blood components and intravenous fluids and monitors patient response to drug treatments
  • Provides wound management, nutritional guidance, and psychological support to patients, families and to the professional staff
  • Interprets and implements policies and procedures set forth by nursing and hospital administration
  • Functions as a clinical and community resource, educator, and consultant
  • Able to coordinate and provide care for patients based on detailed treatment protocols initiated by physicians without need of direct physician supervision
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.N., M.S.N., or DNP/PhD) required from an NLN approved school of nursing
  • 3 years of recent relevant acute care nursing experience, required
  • State of Michigan Registered Nurse license, required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support certification, required
  • Specialty certification, required within 1 year of hire

Employment Type: Part time Shift Day (United States of America) Weekly Scheduled Hours: 20 Hours of Work 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Days Worked Variable Weekend Frequency Every third weekend
