Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical care in specialty and inpatient pharmacies at METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER in Cleveland Heights. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, you will help deliver medications to in-house patients and support take-home services.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, Ohio eligible registration, and PTCB or ExCPT certification, with eligibility within 90 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42.
• Currently certified as Pharmacy Technician with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification throughout employment.
• Currently registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; maintains active registration throughout the course of employment.
• Registered Pharmacy Trainee Willing and able to travel to external satellite locations, including access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a wide variety of duties in the delivery of pharmaceutical care in the specialty pharmacies (i.e. Pediatric Pharmacy, Critical Care Pharmacy, and Oncology Pharmacy) and inpatient pharmacy.
• Delivers medication related services to in-house patients, and the related take home medication services.
• Assists Pharmacists in performing quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
