Job summary

MetroHealth System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in pediatric, critical care, oncology and inpatient pharmacy settings under pharmacist supervision. Qualifications

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42.
• Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the PTCB or obtains certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification throughout the course of employment.
• Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; maintains active registration throughout the course of employment.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Preferred: experience preparing sterile IV products; 6 months inpatient pharmacy; 1 year of retail pharmacy; 1 year in Home Care or Long-Term Care.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a wide variety of duties in the delivery of pharmaceutical care in specialty and inpatient pharmacies.
• Delivers medication related services to in-house patients and related take-home medication services.
• Assists Pharmacists in performing quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
