Sentara Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Pharmacy Fulfillment Center in Chesapeake, VA. The role involves filling and delivering medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring supply continuity, and maintaining QA standards.

A Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required; CPhT is preferred. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a rotating day shift with hours 8AM-5PM on weekdays, plus occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT license (preferred) through NHA/PTCBB.
• 1 year pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist/practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician’s scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.

Status: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Shift: Rotating Days shift

Hours: 8AM-5PM

Occasional Saturdays

The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
