Job summary

Valley Vital Care is seeking a Specialty Intake Manager to lead the team that moves biologic and acute referrals from receipt to start, ensuring speed and accuracy so patients get to therapy without delay.

You will coach and develop Intake Specialists, build a high-performing, multi-site team, and partner closely with access, authorization, and pharmacy to keep referrals routing cleanly and patients moving toward therapy.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in intake, referral management, or healthcare operations.
• 3+ years of people-management experience, including multi-site or distributed teams.
• Track record of building, developing, and retaining high-performing operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day intake operation, ensuring referrals move quickly from receipt to ready-to-treat.
• Coach and develop Intake Specialists with regular feedback and reviews.
• Own staffing, scheduling, and workload balance to match referral volume.
• Monitor referral-to-start timelines, remove delays, and handle complex referrals.
• Maintain intake quality and accuracy standards; drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with access, authorization, and pharmacy to keep referrals moving smoothly.
• Hire, onboard, and develop intake talent to build a strong future bench.
