Job Overview
The Specialist Human Resources I Operations is responsible for providing administrative support to Human Resource teams with database and process management, HRIS systems, employee status changes, work flow, reporting and scheduling.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist and resolve issues related to applicant and employee changes and requests
  • Assist with service records requests for new hires and exiting employees
  • Field phone calls and emails from applicants and employees and respond in a timely fashion
  • Review, analyze and prepare requested reports as requested to meet established deadlines and goals
  • Assist with assigned projects and tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Responsible for posting and screening of positions to ensure candidates meet published qualifications
  • Assist and verify that new hires and employee changes are processed in a timely fashion
  • Assist and troubleshoot systems and employee issues before escalating to next level
  • Responsible for being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) as it relates to procedures and processes in the areas of fingerprinting, posting and screening for incoming applicants and existing employees
  • Responsible for greeting employees and applicants while providing excellent customer service that creates a positive experience with every encounter
  • Responsible for monitoring group work flow and escalating any items that require immediate attention
  • Perform manual tasks needed for the rolling of fingerprints in both live scan and taking photo ID for State and District purposes
  • Maintain utmost level of professional confidentiality

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of office experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers and software
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

Additional Information

  • Work is performed in an office and is subject to frequent interruptions. Work may involve completion of analytic and narrative documents with deadlines, involving stressful situations and long hours during some payroll periods.
  • In accordance with FBISD’s Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) plan, this position is in the Remote or Flex-Option category. The employee in this position must reside in Texas and must be able to work onsite when called upon, within a day’s notice.
