Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Special Procedure Nurse to provide pre- and post-procedure care and support in a collaborative urgent care team at 1177 Providence Hwy, Norwood, MA. This role covers GYN Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oncology, and GI procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active and unrestricted RN licensure in Massachusetts.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• Willingness to participate in IVMS (Intravenous Moderate Sedation) seminars every two years.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support the procedural process as part of a collaborative care team.
• Organize resources and activities to ensure safe, efficient procedural flow.
• Provide specialty-specific care including pre-op assessment, IV moderate sedation, intra-procedural support, and post-op monitoring for GYN Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oncology, and GI procedures.
• Perform nursing procedures within scope of practice (IV placement, medication administration, injections, wound care, EKGs, glucose testing).
• Educate patients and provide pre- and post-procedure care instructions; maintain documentation and confidentiality.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate data to the care team.
• Administer medications per physician orders and assist with oncology care coordination.
• Maintain safety compliance, credentialing, and certifications (BCLS, ACLS).
• Contribute to staff education, department meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for patient flow management and program planning.

Registered Nurse licensure MA
