Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with identified disabilities, providing one-on-one to small group assistance under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role includes instructional clerical tasks and possible inclusion model duties.

You will work closely with teachers, staff, and parents, performing essential tasks such as tutoring, record keeping, and assisting with behavioral and instructional programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent, plus one of AA degree, 48 semester credits, 72 quarter credits, orParaPro assessment.
• Proficient in spelling, math and grammar.
• Experience or training in reading instruction, remediation, and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or groups in specific skills as directed by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in administering instructional and behavioral programs when trained.
• Communicate with related resource personnel.
• Supervise students per district policies.
• Plan daily/weekly with teachers and staff servicing the same students.
• Assist with record keeping and communications with parents.
• Assist with room maintenance and management of books and equipment.
