Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a contract SPED Teacher to support 3rd–5th grade students near Glendale Heights, IL. This onsite role runs from early November 2026 through late January 2027 with a full-time schedule and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

You will deliver individualized instruction, develop IEPs with families, adapt curricula, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and staff to foster inclusion and student success.

Qualifications

• Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
• Experience as SPED teacher in a school setting, preferably elementary.
• Ability to collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

Bring your expertise in special education to a vibrant educational environment as a contract SPED Teacher supporting 3rd5th grade students. This onsite opportunity is near Glendale Heights, IL and involves providing specialized instruction during a short-term leave coverage from early November 2026 through late January 2027 (excluding Winter Break, holidays, and student non-attendance days). The assignment offers consistency, a supportive school community, and a regular full-time schedule with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsementrequired
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting, ideally with elementary grades
• Comfortable working with various settings and caseload types
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with other teachers and staff
• Dedicated to fostering inclusion and empowering students with diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities

Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
