Job summary

Job description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary school students by stepping into a full-time Special Education teaching opportunity for the upcoming academic year. This contract role focuses on supporting a resource model for grades K-4, working closely with a small group of students who benefit from both direct instruction and collaborative inclusion in general education settings. Youll help shape academic success as well as social and emotional growth in a community committed to excellence.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement, or eligible for PEL via ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) if holding a comparable out-of-state certification
• Experience supporting students with a range of academic and social/emotional needs in elementary settings preferred
• Strong ability to collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Role Highlights:

• Full-time, contract assignment: MondayFriday, 35 hours per week
• Structured daily schedule with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute unpaid breaks
• Caseload of roughly 810 students in a K4 resource model
• Provides both pull-out direct instruction and push-in classroom support
• Academic and social/emotional skill-building with a focus on individualized success
