Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary or middle school students in the Chicago, IL area on a full-time contract. You will design and implement IEPs, provide direct instruction, and collaborate with teachers and families to promote growth and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Active state LBS1 certification or eligible.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience in elementary or middle school special education preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and social skills.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods for differentiated learning.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to monitor student progress.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records, including documentation required for compliance.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Foster an encouraging and safe classroom atmosphere that promotes student confidence and success.
