Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services seeks a Special Education Teacher for its Alternative Education team. The role involves leading instructional processes for elementary school students with individualized education plans (IEPs).

Candidates should be passionate about empowering diverse learners, thrive in dynamic environments, and possess strong communication skills. Responsibilities include creating inclusive environments, documenting student progress, and delivering differentiated instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Licensed or in process of obtaining IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Licensed or in process of obtaining IL state special education (SSE) or LBS1 credential.
• Prior experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
• Knowledge in special education services for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative environment.
• Establish a classroom climate based on respect and fairness.
• Document student progress and generate reports.
• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals.
• Utilize varied instructional methods to support student needs.
