Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking a Special Education Teacher for elementary students in a dynamic alternative education setting. You will design personalized, standards-aligned lessons and deliver targeted instruction in a learning center or classroom.

The role emphasizes collaboration with parents and staff, developing IEPs, and using PBIS strategies to support varied learning needs. Experience with educational software and crisis prevention training is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• IL PEL credential in progress or current.
• IL SSE or LBS1 credential in progress or current.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
• IEP experience with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in co‑teaching settings.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Use PBIS strategies and track student progress.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
