Job summary

The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students in Paradise Valley, AZ seeks a Certified Special Education Teacher to develop and provide specialized instruction for students with disabilities under the campus Principal and Superintendent, with direct support from the program coordinator.

You will evaluate progress, manage IEPs, coordinate services, report to state and district, and work closely with parents, districts, and TSS para-pros to create a positive, individualized learning experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
• AZ Special Education Certification or Alternative SPED Certification.
• Current AZ teaching license in required content area or pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assess student progress and adjust instructional techniques.
• Complete district and state reporting requirements.
• Coordinate the delivery of special education services via IEP.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians, districts and referral sources.
• Provide direction and supervision of educational assistants.
