Job summary

The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students is seeking a Certified Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction for students with disabilities under the direction of campus leadership, with support from the program coordinator.

You will evaluate progress, manage IEPs, and ensure compliance with state mandates to deliver tailored education using the ACES curriculum across individual and group instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate special education area.
• AZ Special Education Certification or Alternative SPED Certification (required).
• Current Arizona teaching license in required content area or progress to get AZ cert/license.

Responsibilities

• Assess student progress and adjust instructional techniques as needed.
• Complete district and state reporting requirements.
• Comply with school policies and state/federal rules.
• Support in special education evaluations and reevaluations.
• Coordinate delivery of special education services in each student’s IEP.
• Create annual IEP plans with goals and services.
• Employ varied teaching techniques to meet IEP goals.
• Provide direction and evaluation of educational assistants.
