Special Education Teacher

AB Staffing is seeking experienced Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
2. Virginia Teaching Certification through the Virginia Department of Education.
3. Proficiency in the subject area; experience with case management, paperwork, compliance, and IEPs.
4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations affecting special education.
6. At least one year of teaching experience with students with disabilities, including behavior disorders and learning delays (preferred).
7. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, see and read printed and digital materials, hear and understand speech, and follow instructions.
8. Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, and lift up to 25-40 pounds as required.

Job Description:

Caseload and classroom type will vary based on location. Recruitment Specialists will discuss details upon application to match you with a suitable classroom. The contract runs through the 2025/2026 school year, with a 37.5 to 40-hour workweek aligned with the academic calendar.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and programs tailored to students' needs.
2. Adapt curriculum based on IEPs and diverse learning styles.
3. Maintain communication with parents regarding student progress and strategies.
4. Create a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
5. Manage classroom behavior and ensure a productive atmosphere.
6. Provide individualized and group instruction using specialized techniques.
7. Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
8. Modify curricula and materials to meet IEP goals.
9. Conduct evaluations and maintain accurate records.
10. Collaborate with educators and specialists.
11. Participate in professional development and ensure compliance with regulations.

Salary:

$1,875.00 – $1,950.00 per week, DOE and location.
