Responsibilities

We are now offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for a Special Education Teacher to support our LifeWorks School in Levittown, PA for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year.

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school affected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Our comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. Our unique balance of academic rigor and a continuum of evidence-based educational/therapeutic supports makes LifeWorks the regional provider of choice.

Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting. They monitor student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods. They observe and record student progress daily, develop and monitor student's IEP, reports, goals, and objectives, attend IEP meetings, and work toward student goals as outlined in the IEP. They also manage student behavior through individualized motivational systems, the S.M.A.R.T. Program, and positive behavior support plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education is required. A certification in Special Education is also required. Content area certifications are preferred. Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting is preferred.
