YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, TX is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant to support students under the Special Education Manager. This 10-month position offers hourly compensation and opportunities to work closely with dedicated educators.

The role involves assisting teachers, managing student behavior, maintaining IEP-related data, and providing tailored instructional support for students with significant needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 30 semester hours college credits.
• Current Educational Aide certification (TEA) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsabilités

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Assist with behavior management and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Maintain data in accordance with IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and support learning concepts.
• Provide one-to-one full-time support for students with significant needs.
• Administer and score tests and assignments as needed.
• Adapt activities and materials to support classroom objectives.
