Job summary

YES Prep in Houston, TX seeks a Special Education Teaching Assistant for a 10-month role. The position supports both Special Education and General Education teachers, providing one-to-one assistance and help with behavior management and data tracking for IEP goals.

Responsibilities include adapting lessons, reinforcing concepts, and assisting with tests. High school diploma, 30 college hours, and TEA certification eligibility are required; strong teamwork and resilience are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 30 semester hours of college credit.
• Current Educational Aide certification or willingness to acquire TEA certification.
• Interest in one-on-one support for students with significant needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all settings.
• Model and reinforce positive behavior to support classroom management.
• Maintain data aligned with IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and support learning concepts.
• Provide one-to-one support for students with significant cognitive/medical needs.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
