Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas, is hiring a Teaching Assistant to support Special Education and General Education teachers across all instructional settings. You will help implement behavior strategies, collect data for IEPs, and tailor lessons to individual student needs.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least 2 years of related experience, with the ability to assist students with mobility and self-help skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to assist students with self-help, mobility, academic and behavioral skills.
• Interest in one-on-one support for students with significant needs, including medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers in supervising students across instructional settings.
• Demonstrate and reinforce positive behavior management techniques.
• Maintain data aligned to IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and support learning concepts.
• Assist with administering and scoring tests and assignments.
• Support accommodations and modifications as required.
• Monitor transitions and ensure student safety throughout the day.
