Job summary

Performance Academies is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of certified Intervention Specialists and general education teachers. You will help implement IEPs, supervise students, and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Daily duties include assisting with classroom activities, accompanying students on field trips, communicating with families, and maintaining records of student progress while upholding district

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to supervise students in classroom and non-instructional settings.
• Experience with implementing or supporting IEPs and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising students in the classroom.
• Attend IEP/ IAT meetings as requested.
• Supervises students in school building and escorting to buses/ cars.
• Reports behavior infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or issues to teachers/Principal.
• Assists with reinforcing curriculum and student learning.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to support instruction.
• Supports record-keeping documenting student progress.
• Participates in classroom management to maintain a safe environment.
• Supports students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, hallways).
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Assists with parent contact to foster involvement in education.
• Supports inclusion and IEP objectives across instructional activities.
