Job summary

Manhattan Charter School in New York City’s Lower East Side seeks a SPED Coordinator to support high-quality special education services, coordinating IEP meetings, service schedules, data, and compliance with regulations.

The role collaborates with general and special educators, maintains IEP/504 documentation in SESIS, engages families, tracks referrals, and supports staff with progress reporting. Full-time, in-person position with comprehensive benefits and a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 3+ years of experience in a special education setting.
• NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities preferred.
• Familiarity with SESIS, RTI frameworks, and instructional supports for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate IEP and Section 504 meetings in collaboration with CSE.
• Ensure timely development, implementation, and progress reporting of IEP goals.
• Monitor service schedules and communicate changes to providers and teachers.
