Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia is seeking paraprofessionals to support instructional programs for students with special needs across classroom settings, including regular and special education environments and during IEP meetings.

Candidates must meet one of the education options listed and be prepared to assist with supervision, behavior support, data collection, and collaboration with teachers to implement IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in any subject with coursework and a grade of C or higher.
• Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours) with a grade of C or higher.
• High school diploma or GED plus passing GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to instructional programs in assigned classrooms.
• Assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs.
• Assist in implementing IEP plans and attend IEP meetings as needed.
• Adapt activities and materials to reinforce IEP goals and objectives.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Assist with tests, homework, and makeup work for teachers.

Education

Associate’s degree or higher
