Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a local school to hire a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in a structured, inclusive learning environment. You will work under a certified teacher, assisting with academic, behavioral, and daily classroom routines in a multi-grade setting.

You will support students with autism and intellectual disabilities, using positive, student-centered strategies, while ensuring calm professionalism and adaptability across grade levels.

Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting students with autism and intellectual disabilities.
• Familiarity with behavioral interventions and proactive support strategies.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, consistency, and a calm presence in a school setting.
• Comfortable supporting instruction across varied grade levels and learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually and/or in small groups with classroom work and learning activities.
• Assist the lead teacher with classroom routines, organization, and instructional materials.
• Help implement behavioral supports and intervention strategies as directed.
• Track and share student progress observations with the instructional team.
• Provide supervision support during transitions and non-classroom times as needed.
• Support student independence and access to learning in a multi-grade blended environment.
