Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a public school program to hire Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students across K–12 settings. This hands‑on role focuses on fostering student independence and collaborating with teachers and special education teams.

You’ll work under licensed educators to provide instructional and behavioral support, with 1:1 or small‑group assignments, implement IEP accommodations, collect data, and help create an inclusive learning environment in Providence

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with passing ParaPro exam, or 60 college credits.
• RIDE Teaching Assistant Training Certificate obtainable within first 30 days.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities; 1–2 years preferred.
• Ability to support personal care and physical needs if required.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff.

Responsibilities

• Support academic instruction in 1:1 or small groups as directed.
• Implement IEP accommodations and help access instruction.
• Support behavior plans with positive reinforcement and de-escalation.
• Collect student data and share observations with the team.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment and assist with social/communication skills.
• Provide mobility and personal care support as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy.
• May accompany students on school outings or district vehicle.
