Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to support students ages 5-21 with autism and emotional/behavioral challenges. You will work with teachers to implement IEPs, assist with self-care goals, and help create a safe, structured learning environment.

You will contribute to progress data collection, behavior management, and daily activities, collaborating with the team to empower each student to grow and pursue meaningful adult lives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
