Job summary

Caddo Parish School District seeks a Paraprofessional-Inclusion/Resource/Self-Contained to support teachers and students with disabilities in elementary and secondary settings.

Key duties include implementing classroom plans, monitoring progress, and assisting with behavior supports in inclusive, resource, and self-contained classrooms. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant assessments or higher education as outlined.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Must have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent and meet one of the additional requirements: Pass the teacher/paraprofessional assessment test with a score of 450 or higher.
• Associate degree or higher (official transcripts required).
• 48 hours of college with six hours of Math and nine hours of English (official transcripts required).
• Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups of students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Works with students with disabilities in all educational settings individually or in groups to provide instructional support.
• Implements instructional plans developed with the classroom teacher and adjusts as needed.
• Monitors and supports student safety and behavior; implements Health Plans as applicable.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information under FERPA.
• Assists in non-complex health procedures and health training as prescribed by board policy and state law.
