Job summary

Caddo Parish Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional-Inclusion/Resource/Self-Contained to support teachers and students with disabilities across elementary and secondary settings.

The role involves implementing instructional plans, monitoring progress, and assisting with health plans, behavior support, and assistive technology. Strong reading, writing, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Must have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent and must meet one of the additional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Works with students with disabilities in all educational settings individually and/or groups to provide instructional support.
• Implements the instructional plan as developed with the classroom teacher as it pertains to the core curriculum.
• Monitors and adjusts the instructional plan based on student needs.
• Implements strategies and accommodations as developed with the classroom teacher as it pertains to the student’s Individual Education Program.
• Maintain a log/schedule providing support to students with disabilities within inclusive, resource and self-contained classrooms.
• Assists in routine supervision of study areas, cafeterias, halls, playgrounds, instructional field trips and bus loading areas.
• Performs non-complex health procedures, attends necessary non-complex health training, lifting and positioning of students.
• Implements positive behavior supports and Behavior Plans and provides redirective support to students.
• Assists students in using computer applications and related assistive technology.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information per FERPA.
• Performs other duties related to supporting students with disabilities and teachers/administrative staff.
