Job summary

The Barrington Board of Education is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist with individualized instruction and small-group support under the supervision of a special education teacher. You will reinforce material introduced by the teacher and help implement IEP goals.

You may assist with testing, behavior management, and coordinating with the Child Study Team, while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism in every interaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College-level coursework in education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with individualized instruction and small groups under supervision.
• Checks notebooks and supervises testing and makeup work.
• Helps implement pupils' goals set by IEPs.
• Serves as a resource to the Child Study Team and staff.
• Assists with strategies and behavioral modifications based on students' needs.
• Supports, when appropriate, in escorting students to arrival/departure areas.
• Maintains confidentiality in district policy and handbook.
