New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with developmental and learning differences in a structured classroom. You will assist teachers, support engagement, and help build confidence and life skills, including supervision when teachers are absent.

You will implement behavior plans, record progress data, and help maintain a calm, safe classroom environment while following established safety and privacy standards.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow behavior plans and structured protocols with consistency.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and observational skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
• Willingness to complete required training (e.g., crisis prevention/de-escalation, ABA-based practices).
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with students with behavioral needs preferred.
• RBT certification or paraprofessional certificate preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide small-group classroom support for students with intensive autism needs.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies, reinforcement systems, and instructional activities under guidance.
• Support the management of challenging behaviors using de-escalation strategies.
• Collect and record accurate data on student behavior and progress.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and organized classroom and support daily routines.
• Provide classroom supervision in the absence of a teacher according to plans.
• Follow all safety, documentation, confidentiality, and professional standards.
