Job summary

Vail School District seeks a Student Support Aide to assist teachers with preparing materials, supervising students, and delivering individualized instruction aligned with each student's IEP.

Responsibilities include implementing daily lesson plans, organizing instructional materials, recording progress, and supporting life skills and behavioral plans under teacher supervision. First Aid and CPR certification are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Education requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing IEP-based activities.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and supervise students.
• Provide direct student instruction (individual or group) per lesson plans.
• Maintain records and files for assigned students.
• Provide formal and informal evaluation of IEP goal attainment.
• Support classroom teacher with tasks as time allows.
• Design and enforce behavior management plans.
• Provide physical assistance and life skills support as needed.
• This includes field trips, assemblies, playground, etc.
