Job summary

Mesa County Valley School District 51 is seeking a Paraprofessional in Special Education (LIFE/SSN) to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal-care support to students with disabilities. Under licensed staff, you’ll help implement IEPs, support academic and social-emotional development, and maintain structured routines in a safe learning environment.

This role requires teamwork, strong communication, flexibility, and the ability to work with diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or 48 college hours or WorkKeys completion required for Title I.
• Two years of experience with children preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills required when assigned to bilingual program.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional delivery in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
• Assist with IEP goals and accommodations under licensed staff guidance.
• Adapt and prepare instructional materials for diverse learning needs.
• Monitor behavior and support safety procedures across settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and related service providers.
