Job summary

Poudre School District seeks a paraprofessional to support students with mild to moderate disabilities at Laurel Elementary School for the 2026‑27 year. This role assists with instruction, personal care, behavioral support, and classroom accommodations to help students access the general education curriculum.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, CPI training within 3 months, and a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPI training within 3 months of hire.
• Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes (5 in first 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Assist general classroom or special education teachers with instruction and accommodations.
• Support students in classroom work, personal care, social skills, and self‑determination.
• Monitor progress and assist with data collection and planning.
• Attend trainings and school initiatives to stay updated on instructional strategies and compliance.
• Provide supervision and manage transitions to ensure safety and order.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of related experience

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 3 months
