Job summary

The Scituate Public School District seeks a Specialized Paraprofessional to work under the supervision of designated teachers for students with intensive IEP-based support across ECC, JEMS, TLP, i-Excel, and Learning Centers. The role includes 1:1 support for students with significant needs and may involve small group settings.

Responsibilities include assisting instruction, testing, supervision, behavior management, and collaboration with educators.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families.
• Ability to follow directions from the principal and lead educator.
• Ability to work independently and support students with IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups to support instruction.
• Proctor tests and MCAS, supervise routines and behavior.
• Provide academic and behavioral support and assistive technology use.
• Implement accommodations from student plans (IEP/504).
• Document student progress and maintain confidentiality.
