Job summary

Supplemental Health Care is hiring Paraprofessionals to join our team and work alongside teachers at partnering school districts to support students with special needs.

You’ll help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe, inclusive classroom, following IEP goals and collaborating with teachers and therapists. This role emphasizes patience, flexibility, and a willingness to assist with mobility, daily routines, and behavior support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and either ETS ParaPro exam score OR an associate degree or higher, or at least 48 semester hours.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children.
• Prior experience with children with special needs, disabilities, or behavior management.
• Proficient in standard computer applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff.
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, daily routines.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines.
• Assist with behavior plans and IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to create inclusive learning environments.
• Assist students with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation as needed.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student can thrive.
